Village Community Garden
The Village Community Garden is just a short walk from our store in West Broad Village. It is Whole Foods Market’s first on-site community garden in the country. Almost an acre in size, the Village Community Garden features an education garden, seven production beds, a fruit orchard, community rental plots and compost bins.
Whole Foods Market wants to help people make a connection with where their food comes from. We want to teach people how to grow, cook, and celebrate food. We invite you to attend one of the many free gardening classes offered in the Village Community Garden. We also offer group tours. Just ask customer service for details.
Plot rentals! Yes, you can rent a plot in our community garden. Email Sean with Backyard Farmer for details. byfarmer@gmail.com
The Whole Foods Market Village Community Garden is open to the public during daylight hours. We encourage you to visit often. Parking is available in the Home Goods parking lot. Just follow the gravel path down to the garden.
The Village Community Garden is a collaboration between Whole Foods Market, Markel-Eagle Partners LLC and Backyard Farmer. The Village Garden was constructed on land donated by Markel-Eagle Partners LLC, the management entity that operates West Broad Village. Backyard Farmer, a local company that builds small, sustainable farms in back yards, built the Village Garden and maintains it with help from Whole Foods Market team members. Other sponsors of the Village Community Garden include San-J and YardWorks.
