5% Day with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson

Whole Foods Market ~ Speedway will Donate 5% of the Day’s Net Sales to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson.  Customers and local residents are encouraged to shop for their all-natural and organic products on this day to help raise funds for their mission of one to one, adult to child mentoring, to improve the lives of the children they serve.

Throughout the day, from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. on May 30th, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson volunteers and staff will be on-site at Whole Foods Market passing out information and answering customers’ questions about their cause. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson annually serves 550 children and youth ages 6-18 in the Tucson metropolitan area.  Their trained staff carefully screens, matches, and supports caring adult mentors who spend a minimum of four hours a month with their “Little” doing everything from helping with homework to going to sporting events to making dinner together. Their mentoring programs have been making positive changes in the lives of Tucson’s children for nearly 50 years.  Research proves that children enrolled their one-to-one mentoring programs are more likely to improve in school and in their relationships with family and friends, and are less likely to skip school or use illegal drugs or alcohol.
