Ways We Give Back
Thank you for your interest in Whole Foods Market Community Giving. We are committed to supporting the Santa Fe community, as well as national organizations that are important to our customers. At Whole Foods Market, we are active participants in our community through giving and partnerships with organizations that match our core values. We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships that we continue to make each month! We strive to make a difference.
Donation Requests
We are very dedicated to working closely with and supporting our local community. For most organizations a smaller donation request based on a specific event is a more likely to be approved and offers considerable value to the organization.
- We prefer to donate product or gift cards and rarely donate cash. The majority of our products will be our private label products.
- All applications must be received in writing at least 4 weeks prior to event.
- Phone inquires are discouraged and will be directed to apply in writing.
- Rarely do we give large contributions to any one organization, allowing us to donate to a wider range and greater number of nonprofits.
- Please include a copy of your 501(C)3 letter from the IRS granting your status as a nonprofit organization. Requests without this letter will be denied.

“Small Change Adds Up“ Bag Refund Donation Program
Small Change Adds Up is a program exclusive to our stores in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Kansas and was specifically created to assist our local schools. Customers can elect to donate $.10 per reusable bag brought into the store to a local school to fund school-based environmental projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a school to partner with the Whole Foods Market St. Francis store to raise money. Your complete application must be dropped off at the Customer Service Desk at the St. Francis store, mailed to this store, or emailed to jo.ekblad at wholefoods.com. All applications are reviewed on a first- come, first-serve basis.

BAG DONATION PROGRAM APPLICATION
Community 5% Days
Our Community 5% Days are another meaningful way we give back to our community. Whole Foods Market created 5% Days to give back to our local communities by providing support to nonprofit organizations whose programs directly benefit the communities surrounding our stores. 5% Days are held quarterly in each store. On this special day, selected organizations receive 5% of a store’s total pretax sales for that day. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days.
