Community Giving Guidelines and Application:
Whole Foods Market believes in supporting the communities we serve. We strive to benefit a large number of organisations, which are as varied as the communities themselves.

From the Stores
Our team members are part of the local community. They are passionate about supporting local causes that are important to our shoppers and neighbours. For example, each store donates food to local food banks and shelters. In addition, throughout the year, we hold ’5% Days’, where five percent of that day’s net sales are donated to a local non-profit or educational organisation.
Global Community
As a company we also give back to the larger global community. Our Whole Planet Foundation, fights poverty through micro-lending in rural communities around the world. We provide much of the funding for the loans and underwrite the administrative costs, so each pound donated goes directly to those who need it most.

There are 2 ways Whole Foods Market Stoke Newington store can help:
- Our 5% Days are one way we support our local community. On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day’s net sales are donated to local non-profit organisations. Customers help support the selected organisations simply by shopping at the Stoke Newington store.
- It is a common misconception that we have a lot of food to throw away at the end of the day. One of the big differences between our stores and other supermarkets is the sheer volume of in-store production that we undertake, so our in-house kitchens use much of the food from around the store. However we also ensure that surplus food goes to local food banks and shelters, where it can help feed those most in need.
How to Apply for a Donation
If your non-profit organization is looking to work with us, please review our guidelines prior to filling in the application form.
Application requests must be received at least 2 months before the event and “pick up” date in order to be considered. Applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis. As our Donations Budget is limited, early submission of your application is highly recommended.
