  Robert "Bob" Lowes’ poetry has appeared in numerous journals, including The New Republic, Jabberwock Review, and The Tampa Review, as well as several anthologies. He won the graduate poetry prize in 2005 and 2006 from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He is also a former president of the St. Louis Poetry Center and is currently a co-curator of the organization's Observable Reading series. Catherine Rankovic has written several books as well as essays, poems, anthologies and online journals. She currently teaches in the new online graduate creative-writing program at Lindenwood University. Her awards include the Missouri Biennial Award for essay writing, an Academy of American Poets award, and several regional and local first-place awards. She mentors new authors and her website is www.BookEval.com.  Our musician this month is Marion Berktold. Marion was born in Germany, but before moving to the United States, she was part of the background voices in a cover band and a local all girl´s band, called “Momentary Girls.” She is now writing songs of her own and performing with other local musicians. St. Louis poet, Dwight Bitikofer is the emcee for the event, which is co-sponsored by the St. Louis Poetry Center.
