Community Giving
At Whole Foods Market, we are active participants in our community. We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships that we continue to make each month! We strive to make a difference.
Donations
Donation Requests are accepted online only. You must complete the online application at least 45 days prior to when you would expect your donation. As part of the process you will be asked to upload a copy of your group’s 501(c)3 letter from the IRS/US Treasury. Please note that this is a federal letter and not the Tax Exempt Form from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Community Involvement
There are other ways that our store works with non-profit agencies in the area. We participate regularly with community organizations and in-store by offering our customers coupons at checkout enabling them to support selected nonprofits. The Federation of Massachusetts Farmers Markets, Project Bread, Boston Living Center, and Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters are a few of the groups which have benefited from this program.
You’ll often find Team Members from the Wayland store sampling food or volunteering at community and fundraising events, too. You’ve seen us at Bonnie’s Boot Camp Annual Work Out Fundraiser, the Eastern MA Wildlife Refuge, Drumlin Farm, the Food Project, HOPESudbury, Russell’s Garden Center, Wayco, Claypit Hill, Happy Hollow, Wayland Middle School, Parmenter, Yoga Reaches Out Yogathon, Habitat for Humanity, MS Walk Worcester, Against the Tide Breast Cancer Walk, and at many public and private health and wellness fairs and food events around town. At larger scale events such as Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation, Earthfest, and AIDS Walk Boston, you’ll often find Whole Foods Market Team Members from all over Eastern Massachusetts!

5% Community Giving Days
are another meaningful way we give back to our community. Four times throughout the year a total of 5% of a day’s net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days!
Some of our recent recipients have been Yoga Reaches Out, Garden in the Woods, Wayland Public Schools Foundation, Drumlin Farm, Land’s Sake Farm, Neighbor Brigade, Sudbury Valley Trustees, and the Wayland Green Team.
