Community Giving
At Whole Foods Market, we are active participants in our community. From product donations to our 5% Days to our Bag Refund Donation Program, Whole Foods Market Westlake is extremely proud of our community involvement. We strive to make a difference in our community. Some of the local nonprofit organizations we have partnered with include Lifelong AIDS Alliance, Food Lifeline, Pasado’s Safe Haven, the MS Society, YouthCare, PAWS, Facing The Future, and the Washington Trails Association.
Donations
Whole Foods Market Westlake has specific guidelines for the organizations we are able to support through donations. In addition to being a 501c3 nonprofit organization, you must fall into one of the following categories:
- Hunger Relief
- Childhood Obesity Prevention & Active Youth Promotion
- Animal Welfare and Compassion
Because we believe in being an active part of our community, requests from other nonprofit organizations will be considered if the organization is in the immediate vicinity of our store, meets our core values, and funding is available. We ask for a minimum of 8 weeks notice of donations requests, and we look for opportunities that offer significant marketing benefits.
We do not donate to individuals, individuals seeking pledges, multiple requests from the same organization or organizations and/or causes. Each approved organization is restricted to one donation per year from any and all Whole Foods Markets. Past support of an organization or an event is not a guarantee of future support.

Community 5% Days
Our Community 5% Days are another meaningful way we give back to our local community. On designated days throughout the year, a total of 5% of the day’s net sales are donated to a local non-profit organization. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days.
Join us for our Metro Community 5% Day on Tuesday, June 5 benefiting PAWS!
We choose our Community 5% Day recipients once per quarter. To be considered, please complete our Community 5% Day application.
Bag Refund Donation Program
Here’s another great reason to bring your own bags when you shop at Whole Foods Market Westlake! You can choose to donate your 10 cent bag refund to either Forterra or Community Day School Association.
