GrandyOats started selling delicious, small-batch granola in 2015, but it’s not just their small-batch ways that set them apart. Generating more than 95,000 kWh of renewable energy annually, their state-of-the-art solar-power facility allows them to make the best granola with ovens, computers, forklifts, lights, heating and cooling systems powered by the sun.

Owned by Pheonix and Megan O’Brien, Hall Brook Farm is a certified organic vegetable farm located in Thorndike. Together, they grow about eight acres of mixed vegetables and 2–3 acres of dry beans. For most of their field work and cultivation, they rely on the help of their three draft horses — an old-time method that works wonders for Hall Brook Farm.
