With over 180 employees, the Kühl family is passionate about caring for their workers and their livelihoods. Eddy and Mausi — along with their four daughters, Victoria, Karen, Heddy and Nora — are fifth-generation coffee farmers. Thanks to the funding generated by Sourced for Good coffee products, the Kühl family is able to provide on-site elementary education for the children of their workers, along with housing for permanent workers. Five hundred of the 1,500 acres of farmland are set aside as virgin forest, which creates a diverse shade canopy that provides a habitat for birds and other animals.

Brother-sister duo Jose Roberto Larín and Silvia Cuenca Larín manage this picturesque fourth-generation coffee farm nestled in the Apaneca-llamatepec mountain range. This region is famous for producing world-renowned coffee, and the Larín family takes it a step further by supporting employees with housing and medical checkups. The farm is also an important part of the local ecosystem, hosting over 400 species of migratory birds.
