Bacon Manchego Dates
Makes 1 dozen
Time 20 min
Sweet, salty and impressive on the plate, these Spanish-inspired stuffed dates are a cinch to prepare. They're most delicious when very hot, so try to get them to your guests as soon after they come out of the oven as possible.
Special Diets:
Ingredients
- 12 dried dates, preferably Medjool
- 2 ounces Manchego cheese, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- 6 slices bacon, cut in half crosswise
Method
Preheat the broiler.
Make a slit in the side of each date and remove the pit.
Place a piece of cheese in the cavity of each date and wrap each date with a piece of bacon.
Arrange dates on a baking sheet and broil for 4 to 6 minutes.
Turn dates and broil until bacon is crisp and cooked through, about 4 minutes more. Serve immediately.
