Mango-Cherimoya Baby Food
Makes about 1 1/2 cups
Time 10 min
The delicious combination of fresh mango and cherimoya yields a naturally sweet result and a fun new purée to add to your baby food arsenal.
Special Diets:
Ingredients
- 1 ripe cherimoya
- 1 ripe mango, peeled and pitted
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom, ginger or turmeric (optional)
- 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
Method
Halve cherimoya lengthwise and use a spoon to scoop flesh out of skin.
Hold one of the peeled cherimoya halves, rounded-side up, in your palm.
Using a paring knife, carefully carve away flesh in chunks and transfer to a food processor.
As you encounter seeds, remove them with the tip of the knife and discard. Repeat with remaining half.
Add mango, cardamom, if using, and salt to the food processor and purée until smooth.
Transfer to a bowl and serve, or refrigerate in an airtight container until ready to serve or up to 3 days.
