Spiced Almondmilk Punch
Serves 2
Time 10 min
Made with almondmilk and warmly spiced orange syrup, this creamy vegan drink is a much lighter take on the classic New Orleans brandy milk punch. It can be served warm or cold and is perfect for holiday brunches. A blender (or an immersion blender) is essential for creating an appealing frothy texture. Feel free to replace the brandy with Cognac, dark rum or bourbon.
Special Diets:
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened plain almondmilk
- 3 tablespoons brandy or sherry
- 1 tablespoon Orange Spice Syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Ice cubes as needed (optional)
- Grated nutmeg for garnish
Method
Combine almondmilk, brandy, orange spice syrup and vanilla in a blender and blend until smooth and frothy, at least 1 minute. (If serving punch cold, you can add a few ice cubes to the blender along with the other ingredients.)
Pour into 2 rocks glasses and garnish with nutmeg.
If serving punch warm, heat mixture in a heavy saucepan over medium heat.
Whisk or blend to froth mixture again, pour into 2 mugs and garnish with nutmeg.
