Spicy Tamari Pumpkin Seeds

This addictive snack is spiked with spicy cayenne, savory tamari and brown sugar. Serve these in bowls at your next cocktail party alongside frozen margaritas or cold beer.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil or canola oil
- 1 pound shelled pumpkin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 4 teaspoons reduced-sodium tamari
- 1 teaspoon evaporated cane or natural brown sugar (optional)
Method
Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
Add pumpkin seeds and cook until they start to pop and turn golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes.
Add tamari, sugar and cayenne.
Continue to cook until seeds are coated and glossy, about 1 more minute.
Arrange mixture in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Set aside to cool before serving.
