Sweet and Spicy Toasted Pecans

Toasty with a nice bit of winter spice, the combination of maple syrup and brown sugar makes these a delicious treat.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 4 cups pecan halves
Method
Preheat the oven to 300°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
Melt butter, sugar and maple syrup in a medium saucepan over low heat.
Remove from heat and stir in salt, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and cayenne.
Pour over pecans, tossing well. Arrange pecan mixture in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake until lightly toasted, about 30 minutes; stir once during baking.
Cool pecans on the baking sheet. Store pecans in an airtight container.
