Method
Bring liquid and 1 cup water to a boil in a medium saucepan.
Stir in oats and reduce to a simmer.
Cook, stirring occasionally, until oats are tender and as thick as you like, 5 to 12 minutes.
Watch closely to make sure liquid doesn't boil over.
Cover, remove from heat and let stand a few minutes before serving.
