Spiced Almond-Date Bites

These quick-and-easy treats feel deceptively decadent and are the perfect go-to for cookie exchanges and holiday gift giving. The recipe doubles easily, so make a second batch! Watch our how-to video.

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1 1/4 cup chopped pitted dates
- 1/2 cup no-salt-added unsweetened almond butter
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 1 teaspoon pure almond extract
- 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
Method
Place oats, dates, almond butter, poppy seeds, almond extract and nutmeg in a food processor and process until smooth and sticking together.
Drizzle in 2 to 3 tablespoons hot water so that the mixture comes into a ball.
Using a teaspoon, scoop out a heaping spoonful of the mixture.
Roll into a ball, pressing firmly so that it sticks together.
Chill bites until ready to serve.
Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 1 week.
