Ingredients

    3 cupspecans
    1/2 cupmaple syrup
    1 teaspoonground cinnamon
    1 teaspoonground cumin
    1/4 teaspoonground ginger
    1/4 teaspoonground cloves
    1/4 teaspoongrated nutmeg
    1/4 teaspoonground cardamom

Method

Preheat the oven to 350°F.


Combine pecans and maple syrup in a large bowl.


Add spices and mix well to evenly distribute.


Line a baking sheet with foil, using several layers if necessary to completely cover baking sheet.


Arrange pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.


Bake 10 to 15 minutes, stirring nuts every 5 minutes, until toasted and most of liquid has been absorbed.


Cool just long enough to handle and spoon pecans into a large clean bowl.


It is very important to remove pecans from the foil covered baking pan as soon as possible to avoid the nuts from bonding to each other or to the foil. Store cooled nuts in an airtight container.
