It’s official: Foodies across the nation went wild when word got out that the new Whole Foods Market at Denver’s historic Union Station would open with its own Mac and Cheese Bar on November 15 — the first of its kind in the company.
What’s in store with Denver’s Mac and Cheese Bar? Cheesy, gooey, goodness with chef-inspired recipes like peppered bacon and blue cheese, pancetta with roasted tomatoes and fried herbs, BBQ pulled pork, and even lobster.
Within hours, the story went viral opens in a new tab and fans tweeted, posted and blogged at us to “please get one in every store as soon as possible!”
The People Are Ready for the Best Bar in Town
The Denver Post asked readers to sit down for the announcement and thinks we “called in the big cheese guns opens in a new tab” with the bar. Thanks to reporter Allyson Reedy who broke the story, the news spread across the nation.
PopSugar hopes we’ll “make every mac-and-cheese-lover's dreams come true opens in a new tab” with the bar and is crossing fingers that the “company will roll it out to more locations in the future.”
Toppings and Flavors Galore
In addition to eight recipes rotating daily, the bar will also feature a variety of toppings to add crunch, zest and herbaceous zing. We recommend adventurous foodies try their hand at toppings from the hot entrée and salad bars to build the cheese fest of their dreams with carne asada, green chile, grilled chicken and more.
More than 15 recipes are on the docket to keep things fresh and inspired, and rumor has it duck confit will make a rare appearance now and again in the lineup.
The bar will also feature a daily vegan option made with Colorado’s award-winning The Honest Stand opens in a new tab vegan cheese, a company known for making plant-based comfort food.
We created the bar for Denverites looking for approachable, elevated meal options on cold Colorado nights, and locals are clamoring for the chance to be first in line. While we knew Coloradoans would love it, we had no idea how much hype this news would generate.
