First, make sure you have the latest version of the
Whole Foods Market app
installed. If the In-Store Code is not displayed on the In-Store Code tab, contact our Customer Care Team by calling
As described in the Whole Foods Market Privacy Notice , if you pay at a Whole Foods Market store with a payment card that is saved as a payment method in your Amazon account or you otherwise identify as an Amazon accountholder at checkout (e.g., by scanning the designated QR code, entering the phone number associated with your Amazon account on the customer-facing display at checkout, or paying using an Amazon One account that is linked to your Amazon.com account), then your Whole Foods Market transaction will be linked to your Amazon account, which will result in any Prime savings being applied to the transaction and a digital receipt for the transaction being shown on the Amazon “ Your Orders ” page.
If you do not want digital receipts for your Whole Foods Market in-store purchases to appear in your Amazon account, then you should follow these steps when checking out: (i) do not scan the QR code in the Amazon/WFM mobile apps or enter your phone number at checkout, (ii) do not pay with an Amazon One account that is linked to your Amazon.com account, and (iii) if your transaction is being linked as a result of paying with a payment card that is saved as a payment method in your Amazon account , then either opt out of such linkage by following the instructions on the customer-facing screen at checkout or pay with a payment card that is not saved as a payment method in your Amazon account . The opt-out selection on the customer-facing screen at checkout will apply only to the current transaction and must be selected for each transaction for which you wish to opt out.
Please note that if you take these steps, then any Prime savings will not be applied to the transaction.
It is likely the case that someone has linked their Whole Foods Market transaction to your Amazon account to receive Prime savings at a Whole Foods Market store either by (i) paying with a payment card that is saved as a payment method in your Amazon account (e.g., if you’ve ever bought something on behalf of a friend or family member using your Amazon account and entered their payment card so that they are charged for it); or (ii) entering the phone number associated with your Amazon account at checkout.
If you wish to prevent this from occurring in the future, you can take these steps:
- For the payment card use case, you can check to see if there is a payment card saved in your Amazon account that another person may be using at a Whole Foods Market store; if so, you can remove it by selecting the card and clicking the “Edit” link that appears to the right of the card image and then selecting “Remove from wallet” from the pop-up screen that appears. Please note that removing a payment card from your Amazon account will mean that you also will no longer automatically receive Prime savings as a result of using that payment card at a Whole Foods Market store.
· For the phone number use case, you can stop allowing the phone number associated with your Amazon account to be used to receive Prime savings at Whole Foods Market stores by following these steps:
o Open the Whole Foods Market app (available for download on the App Store for Apple and the Google Play store for Android)
o Click on the Account icon in the top right corner (it looks like the outline of a person)
o Select “Use my mobile number” from the menu
o Switch off the toggle switch next to “Use my mobile number at checkout”
o Once you make that selection you should see “Your mobile number has been unlinked” directly under that toggle switch
Please note that taking this action will mean that you also will no longer receive Prime savings as a result of entering that phone number at checkout.

4. Bring your item in its original manufacturer's packaging (i.e. shoe boxes or clothing bags) to the Whole Foods Market you selected — no need to bring the original shipping box — and locate the return drop-off point either at the Customer Service desk or Pickup & Return kiosk.
5. Show your QR code to the Whole Foods Market team member or Amazon associate. They’ll take it from there — from the packing to the labeling to the shipping, all at no cost to you.
